If you haven’t heard of Rodan + Fields before, it is a company founded by dermatologists Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields, who hoped to address skin concerns they were seeing in their clinical practice by delivering skin care products with quality ingredients and simple, step-by-step formulas.
Rodan + Fields’ new REDEFINE Regimen is a three-step, dermatology-inspired skin care routine that targets anti-aging issues and works to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and smooth skin overall. Because those are issues that are near and dear to my heart—er, face—I was excited to give this new regimen a try. Here’s how I got started:
Rodan + Fields’ new REDEFINE Regimen
Step one: Choose a cleanser.
In my opinion, cleansing is the most important step in skin care. Taking a moment to cleanse your face of dirt, makeup, and oils is essential because you can’t have great skin without having clean skin. Rodan + Fields recognizes this but goes one step further by utilizing cleansing products with built-in visible wrinkle-minimizing properties, which is why their REDEFINE Regimen begins with the selection of either of the following products as a daily cleanser:
For those with oilier skin, the improved REDEFINE Daily Clay Cleanser, a two-in-one cleanser and mask that gently exfoliates, smooths, and removes daily impurities such as dirt, oil, and makeup;

Designed for those with dry skin, the new REDEFINE Daily Foaming Cleanser, which lathers to remove daily impurities, leaving skin feeling soft and supple.
I chose the Daily Foaming Cleanser, as it boasts exfoliating properties for those of us who suffer from dry skin, particularly during the colder weather months. I also liked that it offers three key ingredients: alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), for gentle exfoliating; ectocin, a natural amino acid that helps to boost firmness while reducing the look of lines and wrinkles; and glyceryl glucoside, which is derived from sugar to help reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. I have used the Daily Foaming Cleanser every morning and evening for four weeks, and I loved how soft it’s made my skin feel.
Step two: Apply a toner.
Toner acts as a vehicle to deliver products applied on top, while helping to even the look of skin tone, shrink visible pores, and moisturize skin. Rodan + Fields takes the guesswork out of figuring out which product to buy for step two by supplying their reformulated REDEFINE Pore Refining Toner.
This skin-softening toner includes vitamin B3, to even the look of skin tone; deep sea water, to minimize the appearance of pores; and fruit acids, to help promote natural cell turnover for smoother skin texture. I loved how the toner minimized the appearance of my pores while exfoliating for better and more even absorption on the surface of my skin.
Step three: Choose a moisturizer—one for morning, and one for evening.
Moisturizing your face on a daily basis is crucial nourishing your complexion. Using moisturizer every day can also reduce skin dryness or oiliness, both of which are known causes of acne. We all know that the sun’s harmful UV rays can be extremely damaging to skin, so sunscreen just as important.
Luckily, Rodan + Fields covers both of these bases in step three of its REDEFINE formula, as you choose REDEFINE Triple Defense Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 or for the lightweight Lotion version.
I opted for REDEFINE Triple Defense Cream which features environmental agent-fighting technology that isn’t found in other products, so I appreciate the unique value offer this product offers. And I was happy to read that its three primary ingredients—peptides, grape extract, and beet extract—work in combination to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while moisturizing and toning skin.

I selected the Overnight Restorative Cream. In addition to its exclusive peptide technology and retinoid science that work together to target fine lines and wrinkles while I’m catching zzzs, the Restorative Cream now includes vitamin B3, which evens the appearance of skin tone so I awake with a more youthful glow.
Bonus step: Take care of your eyes.

Specially formulated for the delicate skin surrounding the eyes, this powerful morning and evening eye cream targets the entire eye area, not just the under eye, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and visibly firming, lifting, and restoring the eyes’ natural contours.
