Shades of Gray – How to Wear All Gray this Spring

Spring for me isn’t all about florals and pastels; I find it to be the perfect opportunity to wear shades of gray. After a winter filled with black, dark reds, and navy, gray can be a light and cheerful spring fashion statement. Additionally, monochromatic looks, when done right, tend to look very chic.

I consider my look a great option for a professional LA business ensemble. As I mentioned in my last fashion post, the style out here is much more relaxed. What may be considered business casual in NYC, is an entirely acceptable business look in Los Angeles.

Why I Moved Back to New York City

If wearing all gray doesn’t seem appealing, there are still options. You can easily integrate gray into your existing spring color palette or make it your neutral to compliment all of your bright colors or fun prints. The key is finding the right shade of gray for your skin tone. I love the heather gray hue of my top because it pops on my skin. For fairer skin tones a light charcoal gray may be the right shade for you.

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I love unusual cuts and draping when it comes to tops, so this crisscross Bailey 44 number just screamed: “buy me!” Even though I am not carrying my life around in my purse anymore, I still can’t resist a large satchel, and this ZAC Posen bag has just enough edge to make the outfit interesting. Since the top had so much going on, these simple yet eye catching earring from Grayc Glass were the perfect accessory to set off the look.

• Don’t over accessorize
