I’ve never been one for a signature scent, since my preferences change quite often. So, I’ve started a collection of fragrances to fit almost every occasion. I realized that shopping for a scent can be an overwhelming experience. With so many options when it comes to perfumes, sensory overload can start to take over.
When browsing through the fragrance department, I generally gravitate to the most eye catching bottles first. But no matter how gorgeous the presentation, you have to find a fragrance that speaks to you. Since a perfume will smell differently after it settles on your skin, from when you initially spray it, I’ll try one scent on each arm and then let them “marinate” for a bit while I shop. After about 15 mins, I’ll smell the first scent, then take a whiff of coffee beans to neutralize my nasal passages before smelling the second one. Decision made!
Everyone’s body chemistry is different, so it’s important to find the perfume that complements you. If you need a little inspiration or are looking for something new, one of my favorite fragrances might just be the scent you’re looking for!
Cartier ‘La Panthère’ Eau de Parfum Légère
Known for its exquisite diamonds, it would only be natural for Cartier to have a bottle with such a flawless cut. This gorgeous bottle, which I prominently display on my dresser, almost looks like a work of art. The perfume, like its brand is mature and definitely makes a statement. 
It may sound silly, but I wear this perfume when I want to be taken seriously. It’s my power fragrance which is not too overwhelming but will be noticed. Its captivating scent reveals notes of:
- Delicate gardenia
- Mellow musky notes
- Highlighted by the tiare flower
Maision Francis Kurkdjian
Not being familiar with this fragrance when I received it in a gift bag a while back, regrettably it took me forever to open because I had no idea what I was missing out on. This lovely scent, sold as a full bottle or in a travel set as shown below, is truly intoxicating. The designer is Paris-born Francis Kurkdjian, revered as one of the world’s most talented perfumers; he worked behind the scenes for many years creating fragrances for fashion houses such as Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Dior, and Jean Paul Gaultier.
One of my travel staples, this set (sold separately) is comprised of an elegant gold case which conveniently hold the scent refills. The metal case which features a magnetic top eliminates the chance for breakage, making it ideal for traveling. The unisex Aqua scent and has notes of:
- Bergamot and Lemon from Sicily
- White Bouquet (Lily of the Valley and sweet mock orange)
- Light and Musky Wood
Miu Miu Eau de Parfum
This signature fragrance from the brand Miu Miu comes in this fun and playful bottle for the fashionable woman. Inspired by the iconic Miu Miu Matelasse bag; the bottle is timeless with a contemporary twist, colorful & edgy with opaque blue glass, and traditional & luxurious with a gold logo embossed in a white matte collar.
Definitely my go-to fragrance for a girl’s night out, the scent has notes of:
- Star Anise
- Ginger
- Green Lily of the Valley
- Blooming Lily of the Valley
- Jasmine Petal
- Rose
- Sandal Wood
