After a hot and humid summer, most of us look forward to Fall. Yes, the beach days may be behind us, but we can take solace in knowing those leather booties, cozy sweaters, and our favorite pair of jeans are waiting for us in the back of the closet. This Fall there are a few subtle trends, and quite a few bold ones I know the celebs won’t be able to resist. See what fall trends you want to rock and which are best left alone.
What is that, Velvet?
(I hope you got my “Coming to America” reference :0!) Yes, velvet is back with a vengeance, but you don’t have to be royalty to wear this luxe fabric from head to toe. You can also find subtle ways to add velvet to your wardrobe this fall. A loafer or handbag will make a statement or go bold with a velvet dress for the night out.
Layer It On
Statement jewelry has been reigning supreme for the past few seasons but this fall the trends are shifting. You can layer on your favorite necklaces or let the designers do it for you. These pre-layered necklaces make a casual weekend look a little more hip and adds some edge to a classic look.
Shine Bright Like A…
Oh, the metallics are taking center stage this fall. Some may say that this look is outer space inspired but when worn correctly, you can avoid an intergalactic fashion faux pas. My advice – Start with a belt and go from there.
There is Only Room For One
Most us spent all summer showing off our shoulders, so this fall it’s time to give one a rest. One sleeve tops and dresses will be #totallytrending this fall. If you are uncomfortable with your arms, you can still rock this trend by just showing a little shoulder instead.
Winter Is Coming
If you weren’t obsessed with Game of Thrones already, you can keep season 7 alive with some fur details this fall. Shearling and fur are popping up in unexpected places this season. Style your look with some fur lined slides, a fuzzy handbag, or even a full fur coat to keep you extra warm, winter is coming – don’t forget.
