Call P. Diddy, I am ready for the party... the White Party that is! White denim has always been a summer essential, but when you pair them with a trendy white blouse, you have created a chic look that is sure to turn heads.
Try not to spill on me, but nothing says summer like an all white look! I'd reserve this look for special occasions and cocktails events, but try to stay away from red wine if you can. These Joe's white distressed jeans have been my favorite purchase all summer. They are so comfortable and despite the distressed knee, the cropped leg actually dresses them up a bit. My BCBG high low blouse (sold out) was a great buy from Gilt.com, but I found some similar looks for you below.
Wearing all white is a great opportunity to show off a chic handbag in any color under the sun. To balance out the look I would recommend going with a neutral shoe if you choose a bright colored bag or a bright shoe if you have a neutral clutch. Statement jewelry can take center stage when wearing all white and I'm rocking some gorgeous gold and jeweled pieces from the unlimited jewelry subscription service, Rocksbox. If you're like me and feel your legs are one of your best assets, then a romper is the perfect way to show those stems off this summer. A romper, for me, is a key wardrobe piece for the warm weather. It looks good on most figures and can be worn during the day causally, but also dressed up for an evening out. I typically am not a big fan of florals, but this print had an abstract feel making it more of my style.
Finding chic and affordable work wear can be a challenge. So with this styled look, I channeled my inner office self for a professional yet fashionable work look. Because I no longer work in an office, I don't tend to suit up for the most part, but that doesn't mean I don't like looking professional for meetings from time to time. My grey Sutton dress is from Of Mercer, one of my favorite contemporary lines of work wear, designed to take you from desk to dinner.
Last month I dove into the World of DVF, the label of fashion icon Diane Von Furstenburg, and got an inside look into her Spring 2016 collection. In true DVF form, the spring line wouldn't be complete without her signature wrap dress in an eye catching print. This gorgeous Nieves silk and chiffon dress opened this season's runway show and is the statement piece to add to your spring wardrobe. Paired with a gold mini Secret Agent bag and strappy heels, I am definitely feeling pretty in pink.
Even though it definitely doesn't feel like spring right now, mother nature has to warm things up eventually. When she does, a denim jacket is the perfect layering option. I call this look a "Flashback" because the over-sized style and distressed details reminds me of something I might have worn as child in the 80's.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you are well aware of my love of all things DVF! I was so excited to be invited to spend the afternoon at their Flagship store in NYC's Meatpacking District and get the inside scoop on the new Spring 2016 collection. Diane Von Furstenburg, one of the most influential fashion designers and inventor of the iconic "wrap dress", has been keeping women stylish since her collection first launched in 1970. Her prints are so recognizable and are seen on just about everyone in Hollywood and even our First Lady, Michelle Obama.
When you are an entrepreneur, your business wardrobe is not defined by the traditional rules of what is considered work appropriate. Your business may require you to meet with clients, but it doesn't mean you necessarily have to wear a suit to these meetings.
Happy almost Spring! Last week's warm weather weekend in New York finally gave me hope that the season will soon be changing. With the first sign of spring in sight, I had to take advantage of it. Because it's still winter, you can't just ditch your coat and act like it wasn't 12 degrees last weekend, you have to transition your wardrobe as the weather changes.
Happy Holidays from, yes you guessed it, Florida. Even though I love New York during Christmas time, it is also nice to get away and spend the holidays in a warmer climate with family. While I am in West Palm Beach for the next week my winter wardrobe will be taking a little break. The overall style here is a little more relaxed, but with so many New Yorkers in the area you find yourself dressing up just a bit. This upscale look featuring these classic tuxedo pants by Rebecca Taylor make the perfect outfit for dinner or a night out. Black is always my go to accent color and it looks so chic. This outfit inspiration is great for holidays or anytime of the year.
The weather in New York is pretty chilly, so getting dressed is all about boots, outerwear and sweaters. For a winter escape I will be traveling to Florida for my Christmas vacation for some sunshine and relaxation. Packing is always a pain especially when you're traveling to a different climate. Even though it's not technically winter in Palm Beach, I don't want to pack strictly summer clothes for my trip. This monochromatic look has the feel of fall, but it's perfect for warm weather travels. My coated plum denim was featured in a previous post last winter, but they are still very much on trend. I paired these jeans with a light pink lace top and my favorite Stuart Weitzman's pumps. All of my mauve accented jewelry can be found at Greenwich Jewelers.
