While scrolling through Instagram I saw a photo of what seemed to be endless rows of lampposts, and instantly I knew this would be the coolest backdrop for a shoot. I think I was right! This iconic installation is a permanent fixture at the entrance of LACMA, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and it's one of the many attractions to see on the widespread grounds surrounding it. For such a striking art display, I decided to make my own statement in the form of fashion.

Spring for me isn't all about florals and pastels; I find it to be the perfect opportunity to wear shades of gray. After a winter filled with black, dark reds, and navy, gray can be a light and cheerful spring fashion statement. Additionally, monochromatic looks, when done right, tend to look very chic.
It's official; this New Yorker is now living in Los Angeles. However, I still don't consider myself an "Angelino," mostly because it sounds like a title given one of Angelina Jolie's adopted children. Making the move from NYC to LA has been a wild journey, but I feel like the excitement has just begun. They say everyone in Los Angeles has a dream and it's no doubt that most come for the fame and fortune. I didn't decide to move from NYC to LA necessarily to become famous, but if the stars aline, hey - you never know.
These days I'm generally in a different city every month, meaning I have learned to pack well, even though it technically may not be considered "light." Over the past couple of weeks, I've been in one of my favorite towns, San Francisco. The city has pricey delicious food, impressive architecture, diverse people and some of the best wine selections you find in the country. The Bay Area generally feels like early spring/late fall all year long, therefore, jackets and boots are a wardrobe staple.
We are one week into 2017 and I'm still holding onto my New Year high. Despite everything going on in the world today, I feel like its going to be a great year. Optimism may one of my best and worst qualities. If you are like me, you are planning out your year by mapping out career goals, deciding your next travel destination and setting yourself up for personal growth. One thing is for sure, I've been scaling down my wardrobe and focusing on effortlessly classic pieces that compliment my life on the go.
There is something inherent about wearing the color black that just makes you feel too cool for school. After living in NYC for 11 years, it became apparent to me that you can never have too much black in your wardrobe. Even though I often shoot outfits showcasing bold colors, the truth is I love black!
Everyone has that movie they can watch over and over again without blinking an eye. For me, that is definitely "Pretty Woman"! I can confidently say that I know every iconic line, scene and wardrobe change from this classic rom-com. My fall look was an ode to Julia's famous outfit from the opening scene, but in a classy way, of course.
I'm spending the first part of November in West Palm Beach and it's nothing like the typical NYC fall I'm used to. You feel like you should be wearing booties and your favorite leather jacket, but its actually 80 degrees! Therefore, I've been slowly transitioning my wardrobe to fit to the season and weather.
Summer is coming to a close but there is still time to show off some of your chic warm weather favorites. As the season's begin to change I tend to revert back to black, my NYC staple color. I wore this look in LA during the BlogHer conference. People always assume that a little black dress is something that can only be worn in the evening, but with the right styling, the afternoon can be perfect time to wear such a look.
This seemingly tropical location is actually set in DTLA, and it fully highlighted the versatility of this LBD. I paired it with this gorgeous layered convertible Isabel & Chloe necklace that can be worn individually or as a combination of all three. I will be packing this dress for my month long Thailand adventure starting next week, which I am so looking forward to. My flat two toned Loeffler Randall sandals add a causal element for a tropical climate, but are still stylish enough for nighttime too.
Oh, how I love summer! No matter how chic fall fashions are, the idea of being able to throw on a great dress and some sandals has its advantages. Earlier this week I was invited to a lovely dinner cruise by IHG Rewards, the loyalty program of Intercontinental Hotels. This cute and colorful striped dress seemed like the perfect outfit for sailing the Hudson.
If you are looking for a fun way to mix up your stripe game, find a print with a multi-directional pattern for a flattering look. I got this dress in a last minute deal from Last Call Neiman Marcus (similar styles below). Since it's so striking, a neutral shoe and bag is necessary to keep the outfit from looking too busy. Check out my upcoming post to see how we enjoyed our evening with IHG Rewards and the Share Forever promotion.
